All add another voice in support of TOAD - it costs but it is brimming with features and they keep adding more. It does things like creating SQL statements via a drag and drop GUI, formatting execution plans, excel/csv/etc import & export, table/index/sequence/trigger etc creation, PL/SQL script editing, script generation, job scheduling and a lot more; I think it's worth every cent of the price and so is software maintenance as there are often a few major releases a year.
