Thanks Tim :) It's amazing how people can't get a simple business concept. They can write code like mofo's but simple business logic and common sense are unused commodities ;)
I mean this "other" unnamed ds and i quote says " And don't tell me a damn t-shirt is going to raise interest in CF or cause a developer to change from PHP or ASP just because you are wearing a CF shirt!" shows how dumb some ppl are!!! I have had probably no less that 10 people ask me about the shirt and most are php users who think you have to buy cfm to dev on them. I didn't keep track if they did anything but everyone of them was shocked to learn that it doesn't cost them anything and they were going to dl it and try it out. and here is connie saying it doesnt happen, well maybe it doesnt happen cause cause you only bitch about others doing it, duh.... so I have had shirts for like a few weeks now and say I have already shown the light to 10 new people, I'd say thats pretty good marketing, considering that a "damn shirt" isn't going to change anyone, well guess what dillhole, it already has. And he/she wants me banned for sticking up for community and trying to promote our livelyhood, nice..... ~Dave the disruptor~ "Some people just don't appreciate how difficult it is to dispense wisdom and abuse at the same time." ---------------------------------------- From: Tim Laureska <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, August 13, 2005 8:12 AM To: CF-Talk <[email protected]> Subject: RE: bitching Will for what its worth IMHO, the shirts are great and another piece of the puzzle for promoting CF - reminds me of that scene in Forrest Gump where Tom Hanks is running across the US and this guy comes up with his t-shirt and Tom cleans his face and the famous smiley face appears Maybe its an awkward comparison, but its just one way ppl get exposed to new things I think its called "marketing" Tim -----Original Message----- From: Will Tomlinson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, August 13, 2005 8:02 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: bitching >Although I don't understand how selling t-shirts is doing anything for the >community. > Russ, this makes absolutely no sense. I dunno how to even RESPOND to this. I'll give it a quick whirl. I sell CF tshirts > I've lost money so far > any $$ generated from sales goes back in to produce more shirts. This all equals getting the product name further into the development community by way of tshirts. It's simple! Why is this hard to understand?
