These are also some great ideas.

We found that we can re-map, or append to, the default buttons on the
phones.

Now, we are trying to find a way to "force" these services to each phone
w/o user intervention.

You're kidding, right? (I was.)

Depending on how they work, it might be a good idea to use them to
distribute network maintenance announcements. If they keep showing the
last message they could grab, make sure they count down and the last
message is something like "network down for scheduled maintenance". Your
ResNet staff will be eternally in your debt because (even though
students will ignore it and call the helpdesk anyway) they can at least
scold them :)

Further ideas are everything that has to do with security. From fire /
evacuation drills to a Zotob alert :)
