Two reasons:

1) Because MM does not want to continue to invest in developing WDDX 
unless there is a substantial deman from its client base. I know this 
for fact beause I inquired about it.

2) I asked everyone here a couple of months ago if the OpenWDDX effort 
should be restarted and the consensus was the WDDX was fine in its 
current state.
