Slow is def. a problem, but that's the problem of the CHEAP ASS ex-boss
of mine! That page wouldn't be very slow at all if they'd take it off of
the POS machine it is on (which also runs several other things not
related to being a webserver), give the mouse in the wheel a break and
move it onto an actual server dedicated to serving web pages. We did
almost $1.5M last year and they won't spring for ANY technical upgrades.
Hell they still have old oracle financials running on an NT Alpha box
with NO support from any of the vendors whose software is running on the
machine -- not one app. And that machine isn't even scheduled to be
replaced. The db server is, I guarantee you, slower and smaller than any
pc anyone on this list is using. Almost ditto for the webserver -- it's
not significantly better. Of course the machine on which the etrust "spy
on your employees" intrusion detection system runs is absolutely kick
ass and brand new! With all of this in mind, you can see why my list
emails no longer come from [EMAIL PROTECTED]

They won't seriously commit to the web business despite the growth from
$200K to almost $1.5M in only 3 years time and they will not pay bonus
money promised to developers, even when exceeding the goal by hundreds
of thousands of dollars. So I left to join a better company. Actually, I
couldn't believe they actually decided to launch that site. It was only
beta and I've got a 3 page list of things I still needed to do to finish
it up. They just said "oh it's ok" and went live. I know it might seem a
good thought to approach them about it and GOOD LUCK if you do. They
still owe my almost $5,000 and I don't expect it to be paid at this
point, as they just laid off about 15 people due to being in a tough
financial spot (people who were assured they were safe relatively recently).

So don't be too quick to blame the code or the flash form for being
sluggish. While it's certainly heavier than an html form, the
performance is due more to the hardware and small outbound pipe than
anything else. Even on the slow server though, you cut out a lot of time
by not moving through 3 or 4 pages worth of checkout...

Oh, and it is the toll free phone number. It's obviously not the most
used format for a phone number, but I would have thought that was fairly
obvious. It's not like I've never seen a phone number written with dots
instead of dashes.

Hmm.
Slow.
Vulnerable to cookie stealing/replay attacks (cut'n'paste URL from Konq. to
Firefox, keeps on ticking).
And what the hell does 'Fitz and floyd online -- 877.653.2529' mean ? That's
not their web address, can't be an IP. Maybe it's a phone number, but the
format is bonkers and in any case, this is an online shop. During checkout.
