There are definitely some issues with closing tags in 1.2. I upgraded to 1.2 last night (from the latest 1.1.18 nightly from Spike), and I can't get ANY closing tags to be auto inserted. But I expect now that they're done with the initial infrastructure work, they'll get back to code development and some bug fixes.
