I realize that async gateways are a part of CFMX7 Enterprise, but I would like to create some async-like functionality on my CFMX7 Standard server; namely, on application startup, I would like to do things like optimize all Verity collections, create the ones that don't exist, and that sort of thing.
One way that I was thinking of accomplishing this is through using CFHTTP to call my Verity CFC as a web service and then setting the timeout attribute to a very low value (1 second). Is this a sound approach or am I asking for trouble by doing this?
