I'm a little confused about the difference between the Local Director hardware and cluster Cats software. Cisco Local Directr is the Load Balancing hardware. It seems like both of the hardware and software handle the load balancing. The agents on the servers report back system's performance to the Local Director, and then the Local Director directs each session to the most appopriate server (via http???). So what's the need to have cluster cats software installed on all the servers? In the Cold Fusion book, it talks about that Cluster Cats has 2 components: Server and Explorer. Server component needs to be installed on all servers. Explorer is best to installed on the primary server. But we are using Local Director hardware as a main switch and that does not require to have a primary server, right? How do Local Director Hardware and Cluster Cats software work togeter? _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
