I have a question about configuring multiple ColdFusion Applications within the same JRun Instance. I have read plenty of information about setting up multiple instances of JRun/ColdFusion, but I recently discovered that I could configure/install multiple ColdFusion WARs within one JRun Instances. There are several reasons why I would consider doing this and maybe someone on the list could help verify my intuitions.
Benefits: 1. Conserve memory by using only one JVM instead of several 2. Sandboxing is inherent since each application contains its own ColdFusion Administrator. Disadvantages: 1. All ColdFusion Applications are sharing the same JVM and one application could affect the performance of another application. Also what would be the benefit of configuring multiple ColdFusion EARs within one JRun instance? I would appreciate other comments or suggestions.
