Hey guys,
Quick question. The new actionscript restrictions in the new 7.0.1
updater have got me a little worried. Does anyone here know how they
might affect flash remoting in the flash forms?
the list of banned words are:
* createchild
* Createchildatdepth
* Createchildren
* Createclasschildatdepth
* Createclassobject
* Createemptyobject
* createobject
* httpservice
* remoteobject
* Uiobjectdescriptor
* webservice
A preliminary check of my files do not find anything but the
createObject, which is only being found so far in my coldfusion not my
actionscript. But we have a couple projects at the company I am
currently consulting for that use the flash remoting and it is not an
option to rewrite these apps, especially losing functionality. Any
insight is appreciated.
By the way, this really seems very unlike macromedia. Things that
could possibly break functionality and not backwards compatable with
older versions. I was also hoping that they would change the size
restriction on the flash forms, but I can understand that, as the
larger files will obviously lower performance. Other than that, 7.0.1
seems like a great release, but if it trashes the remoting then its
probably going to be a deal breaker for some of my clients.
