Kay, Make sure that tcp/ip is the network library you have loaded for server and client. Set up an alias to each using the client network utility (or use a host file entry and change it depending on whether you are inside or outside). You should not be able to connect to the same server using the "same" settings from both inside and outside - unless you also have an inside/outside DNS setup.
