Ok found it! I feel *sorta* stupid, but not completely stupid! The cfhttp post was in the head of a doc that does all the processing and splits sending a number of things for the form on the previous page here and there. I had the whole head wrapped in a <cfsilent> tag to get rid of the 3 feet of whitespace that you get without it. Putting the cfhttp OUTSIDE the cfsilent took care of it.
