We did a project almost exactly like this. We had a client who would take
laptops to job sites and enter information into a Visual Basic Program we
wrote to enter all the information into an Access .mdb. At the end of the
day the team manager would connect the laptop to the internet at their main
office and the VB app would FTP up the mdb files where we had a ColdFusion
system read in the data and then add it to the main database. Fairly
tedious project, though it was a great learning experience.
