In general (and I'm not speaking for the list here, just for myself) I
qualify things with two rules:

1) If somebody complains try to reign in back (if possible). If two people
complain just drop it.

2) If Michael complains, just drop it. ;^)

For the most part the group is group enforced. Once things start "feeling"
OT then somebody will note it. Sometimes they are a little too zealous,
sometimes not zealous enough but it's definitely an organic process.

To more specific, using experience as a guide:

+) Anything about coding CF is on topic as is announcements of new CF tools
or components.

+) Anything related to CF coders is tolerated as long as they're CF-focused.
This would include conference announcements, (CF) book reviews, questions
about tool recommendations, etc.

+) Anything related to coding CF (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, etc) will be
tolerated in small doses.

+) Anything related to the business of CF (Macromedia, Adobe, etc) will be
tolerated in moderate doses.

+) Bickering, no matter how on topic the thread began, is generally not
tolerated well.

+) Personal attacks, no matter how well veiled, are not tolerated because
they lead to bickering. See the last point.

Damn I'm long winded today.
