This is a pretty common problem, actually. CFMX 6.1 and 7 are both superior
to CF 5 in almost all respects. However, very often, CFMX will be less
accepting of mistakes you made within CF 5. You can't just install CFMX on a
server running CF 5 applications and expect them to work. (If they do, good
for you!) You may need to tune JVM settings to get optimal server
performance, and you will almost certainly have to examine your codebase
very carefully.

Once you fix your codebase and tune your server, though, you should be able
to get better overall performance than you did with CF 5.
