This was just on another thread this week, but the major alternatives are

* the MySQL GUI tools (MySQL Administrator, MySQL Query Browser),
which are cross-platform and GPL (open source)
* Navicat, which is a relatively inexpensive commercial choice
* EMS SQL Manager, which is a more expensive commercial choice

There's also the preview version of Toad for MySQL, but that's been in
preview since at least April, so not sure what the progress on that is
like.

Oh -- and if you use (CF)Eclipse, quantumDb can handle a lot of db
management tasks.
