Anyone who is doing this kind of work -- make sure you read all the details available from your Gateway provider. I work with Verisign & PayFlowPro and, according to their docs, when you do this kind of "authorize" it DOES place a hold on the funds. Then, depending on whether you VOID or CREDIT the authorization, it could be 1-3 days or MORE before the hold is taken back off the funds again.
