Hi Matthew, Client/ session variables are not required to view pages .. it is being used for managing the shopping cart. The question is when to set it. I can set it up in the application.cfm page or the cart page. I am told setting it in the application.cfm page could hurt google rankings. I may sound stupid: spiders bots can detect whether or not session/client variables has been set. I am certain about this. I have seen google links to some items on the website that actually included the session id/ Cfid tokens. Consequently the site ranking was poor. Just wanted to clarify that. Ben
