I don’t see anything wrong with it. You can get just as good file size (if
not better in most cases) and definitely better quality out of a jpg. I tend
to use gifs ONLY when transparency is needed or maybe 1px x 1px gifs for
layout and png's only when the image needs to be partly see-through. Other
than that, it's usually jpgs... especially images I'm allowing users to
upload.

Subject: OT: Is it ok to only allow jpeg's?

I'm wrapping up the product display phase of my shopping cart. At first, I
set it up to allow jpeg's, gif's, and png's, but then I ran across iEdit.cfc

iEdit is really really nice and I love the way it works, but it only works
with jpg's. Would it be appropriate to ONLY allow jpg's in this application
ya think? It's just so nice that I hate not being able to use it because of
that.

All of the images in question would be product images. Some would be more
suitable as gif's, a few colors and such, but most would be jpg's anyway.

I need more input

And here's iEdit.cfc in case you guys haven't seen it. Might come in handy!

Thanks much,
