I have the same problem on two different computers. I'm using the
latest CFE and Java sdk 5.0.

I have been able to work around this issue by first closing the Snip
Tree View, opening a CF-related file, then re-opening the Snip Tree
View.

Only then does the Snip Tree View allow me to create, or even view,
snippets.

I tried all sort of fixes, but none worked. For now, I went back to
Dreamweaver 8 rather than mess with the hassle of having to perform this
work-around each time I used CFE.

However, don't get me wrong, I think CFE is pretty damn cool! My
favorite feature is the snippets and their shortcuts. Once this issue
is resolved, I'll probably give it another try.

My primary gripe is mainly with the Eclipse platform itself. It
requires such a change in a process that I'm not ready to attempt just
yet. I've never seen an IDE that also requires a user to work as hard
to configure and use.

I also noted the lack of resources in "how to" such as "where do I put a
workspace" and "why do I use a workspace" and things of the sort. I
have also not found how to save a file that is in a project. I don't
really know where the file is saved.

I will also say that I am *very* new to Eclipse so I don't yet know all
the tricks and hints to using Eclipse. I just know that it's not
Homesite or Dreamweaver and I'm comfortable with those programs.

I am pretty sure this is the wrong place to ask, but didn't know where
else.

I am trying to move over to CFEclipse and one thing I have noticed is
that when I try to create a snippet folder or a snippet item, I can't
due to the fact that when I click on the "OK" button, nothing happens.
No errors. The button visually clicks and has focus, but nothing happens
after that. It seems that nothing in the snippets view works for me.

Any suggestions?

I have the latest version of the runtime environment and updated
CFeclipse plugin.

Thanks!
Ben
