My HS+ defaults to "Web Images". I don't remember doing anything special to get those to appear.
I could see gifs, jpgs and pngs in the same window w/o selecting a new filter. In Settings > File Settings > Extension Manager, do you have the correct types selected for both "Image" and "In Filter"?
