This one is particularily accuarte and detailed.
I can see that a number like −118.625 with as many as 6 significant digits
can be represented in single precision by
+-+--------+-----------------------+
|S| Exp | Fraction |
|1|10000101|11011010100000000000000|
+-+--------+-----------------------+
in which less than half the bits are actually used for the fraction.
So how come it does not work for a small number like 24.82?
