Mark,

I checked out the blog on the SPF. One part:

"That last record with the string
   ' v=spf1 ip4:66.37.232.199 ip4:66.37.232.195 -all '
says that cfwebtools.com mail is only supposed
to come from 1 of 2 IPs."

My concern is this:

I use the free version of Smarter Mail to handle mail
for myself and my family for true POP3 accounts.

For my CF clients, who send out newsletters, etc.,
from a database list, I'm concerned that the server
won't honor an email that goes from say "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" because the SPF would be
setup, per your example, to state that all mail from
my domain should come only from my IP. Which is fine
for mail using my domain, but the mail for my clients
would be origininating in CF and sent via my IP,
but the domain would be my various clients' domains.

Would that matter? Or would I have to list all the domains
for whom I may send mail using CF in the SPF file? What if
a client has an SPF record in their DNS that says all mail
from their domain, e.g., should come from their IP...that would
conflict with their mail that originates from my server...and,
incidentally, this is an issue for the client that owns FortStewart.com,
because they do run their own mail server, although I don't know
if they have an SPF file in operation...

I'm probably making this much more complicated than
it really is...at least I hope so...now you see why I haven't
been able to implement an SPF file in my DNS at GoDaddy.com... :o/

Rick
