AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can anybody point me to a good resource on approved hosting for Government sites (..a Congressman)!
I just got off a 1 hour phone call from some "government approved host" that says "It *has* to be done our way and it's gonna costs $7,500 a year and you have no other choice".. ....and "their way" includes the developers not having ANY access to site files - "You have to package them and send them to us" ....no access to the databases - "You have to send us the data and we'll have to set it up" ....no access to the client to administer dynamic pages on their site - "You have to have a clearance badge and we can't allow....besides, we already have our own back-end systems.." Uhhh - if all that crap is true - jezz, what pork-barrel politician got something like that passed? What a waste of my tax dollars!!!! Surely any number of hosing companies can meet Government requirements!
