The bind file should have aliases in this file to point to an IP address,
the DNS server needs this alias to resolve the name. It might pay to post
this file so that I or someone else can look at the problem.

I will assume that the domain name beeing setup is hooked to an IP address
that is common to all others or is it a unique IP for all domain names.
Another issue is that there needs a bit of extra work in the seetings of IIS
for doamins that use the same IP address, nothing major but does need to be
configured in IIS.

Subject: OT: Bind problems

Hi all,

[caution - beginner learning how to use Bind]

I don't know if I'm using Bind correctly. I'm trying to create a "fake"
test Domain as part of a project. For example I just created
www.wluke-testing.co.uk - the Bind file was called db.wluke-testing.co.uk
and obviously I entered the entry into named.boot.

But I can't get it to resolve. Do I have to wait a set period of minutes
until it'll resolve?

Hope someone can advise.

Thanks

Will
