One somewhat unusual choice is to use a SVN (or CVS) proxy to fake out Windows apps that "only" work with VSS through the MS SCC API (? I think that's the standard they use). http://www.pushok.com/soft_svn.php I've used it during a demo period and it seemed to work ok from HS/DW, but I prefer TortoiseSVN on Windows or Subclipse under Eclipse in general, so didn't see the point in buying it for me personally. >From a financial perspective, $24/seat to get the SVNProxy is a lot cheaper than the per-developer licenses required for VSS (used to be like $400/seat OR a Visual Studio license), especially since SVN is a lot more network savvy (if that matters -- to get the same sort of features in VSS you also have to license SourceOffSite or implement a VPN). -- John Paul Ashenfelter CTO/Transitionpoint (blog) http://www.ashenfelter.com (email) [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:4:232727 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:4 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
