Rick, A full version of studio is $800. A full version of Adobe creative suite is $1200. Upgrades of course are much less expensive.
People are already working on alternatives using primalScript and ANT. For me, I have already set aside my $1000. Adobe's will be the best for sure and will be the only one with a visual design component similar to dreamweaver. And from what I have seen, it is quite useful. To each there own.
