Hmm, that's a bummer. I'd not release any major apps from Flex 2 until 8.5 has a wide install base. However, the upgrade to new versions /is/ pretty painless. I was very surprised the other day when I hit a site in my new install of Ubuntu, Flash was required and Firefox did the install painlessly, then sent me back to the original page without restarting the browser!
