I would still give them the url's ... Tell them the environment is 6.1... Maybe I'm biased... I do lots of work in my spare time, so it makes sense to me that the best programmers start by being well informed, whether they're able to use that information immediately or not. They may discover variances between 6.1 and 7 that result in coding practices/habbits which smooth the transition to 7 in the distant future. May not seem important in the short term given the environment, but at whatever point in the future you might really thank yourself. ... Though if you wait around too long, 7 will no longer be commercially available. The company I just quit was still using CF5 for a bunch of stuff, which isn't sold anymore. They upgraded just recently but are still supporting some legacy apps.
