Looks like i'm getting it all back working again ...    Here's what I had to
do:

Remove SQLServer2000
Remove SQLServer2005
Remove all SQLServer components
Reboot
Install SQLServer2005
Attach all the databases again
Set up all the ODBC Datasources in the control panel
Reinstall ColdFusion
Set up all of my CF datasources again (53 of them)
Set up all of my CF mappings again (37 of them)

About a 3 hour round trip on all that.   I had a problem with the EMS
SqlManagerlite product - its menus suddenly vanished, and the fix was in the
registry, so i suspect whatever caused that problem also broke everything
else.   I dont know what the cause was, and I hope it's gone away because I
dont want to have to do it all again any time soon.

My recommendation - dont install SQLServer2005 on a machine that also has
SQLServer2000 on it.
