Looks like i'm getting it all back working again ... Here's what I had to do:
Remove SQLServer2000 Remove SQLServer2005 Remove all SQLServer components Reboot Install SQLServer2005 Attach all the databases again Set up all the ODBC Datasources in the control panel Reinstall ColdFusion Set up all of my CF datasources again (53 of them) Set up all of my CF mappings again (37 of them) About a 3 hour round trip on all that. I had a problem with the EMS SqlManagerlite product - its menus suddenly vanished, and the fix was in the registry, so i suspect whatever caused that problem also broke everything else. I dont know what the cause was, and I hope it's gone away because I dont want to have to do it all again any time soon. My recommendation - dont install SQLServer2005 on a machine that also has SQLServer2000 on it.
