Frankly, I'd say that not using a decent framework is like continuing to rely on your mother to buy tightie-whities, when the rest of the development world has blown past you into boxers (or boxer briefs).
That's not to say there aren't good developers who are an exception to the rule and go commando (Simon, you reading this thread yet?).
