I wondered about that.  That's a case of  pretty mediocre UI design,
because the questoin is poorly written.   It doesnt want you to put in
the username/password they sent you already, because they havent sent
one.  It wants you to put in the username/password you want to use,
i.e. create one.

Just follow the link they put in the email (because that contains the
code to link your account details as a temporary username),  and when
it says "username" and "password"  enter something you want to use,
6-16 characters.
