Little testy on a Friday are we? You never know who the guy is that 
understands and who the guy is that doesn't understand.

I like Jacob's idea. Why not add another url variable so that before you 
get to the # sign, you have ?&u=yes&highlight=yes. Then you'll have a 
value in the url scope to check for whether or not to disable those tags.
