You could use a directory watcher event gateway...  maybe prepend some id to
the file name so you know where to put it afterwards...  far easier may be
to simply use a form with a file field, and have them attach the scan file.

Depends on your setup and what you're trying to achieve. Automatically can
mean different stuff. ;-)

There could be 3rd party apps that do it all for you, I don't know off hand.
