if your server is UTC, you're happy. that's really the ideal solution.

yes & it caught out a lot of people as the updated java bits were kind 
of stealthy & sun didn't really publicize it until a few days before. 
icu4j has a tz class & gets updated way way more frequently. which is 
why i'm kind of recommending swapping to icu4j. using mark's super cool 
java loader CFC you can handle its updated jars like butter ;-)

i think you'll still have issues as cf *will* turn your datetime into 
server tz.
