There are several methods for suppressing white space in ColdFusion Code. Here
are a few off the top of my head, without digging into the documentation.

1) The white space suppression settings in the CF Administrator. This will
universally try and remove as much white space as possible from all templates
used on the server. It may have some performance considerations.

2) <CFSetting enableCfoutputOnly="true"></CFSetting> Any code wrapped in this
tag must have <cfoutput></cfoutput> tags around it to be sent to the client.
By picking what does and does not appear in the output tags can reduce white
space.

3) <cfsilent></cfsilent> Any code wrapped in these tags will never be sent to
the client, no matter what. Be careful as this tag will disable error output
as well as all other output.

4) <cfcontent reset="yes"> All content before this tag is thrown away and not
sent to the client. This tag will also prevent error messages from appearing.
So may need to be disabled during debugging.
