It means that an error is > happening somewhere in the Java. > Are you sure that your browser is announcing itself as accepting gzip? It would be odd for it not to be, but it looks like the java does test for that. BTW, in the interest of full disclosure, I don't have it working...I was going to test it out tonight, but got sidetracked with other things...so any ideas I send your way could be a complete wild goose chase.
