Thanks for the reply. It is good to see that JRUN is getting up to speed although I am learning now, I am stepping into J2EE anew so I don't think that learning development of a language/server is best done on a Beta release.
And also the community thing is a biggy for me when starting on something new I do not have other developers surrounding me that I can bounce things off. So still for JBOSS for me. But again thanks for the reply and the heads up about the update of JRUN. cheers Martin > On 6/14/06, Martin Thorpe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Ok just thought I would update this after doing some research and > experimenting. > > > > I installed JRUN and started running through some struts tutorials > and came up with a couple of reasons not to use JRUN as a J2EE server. > It is great for multiple instances of Coldfusion but if you start > doing some Java work these are the problems I found. > > > > It does not support JSP 2 > > It does not support JSTL 1.1 > > See below. > > > > > In fact I have had many problems working with JST taglibs. > > > > There are not many tutorials out there, that I could find, for > people beginning on J2EE application development linked with JRUN. > > > > The forums are bare.
