Alright.I'm convinced.after working with ASP.NET 2.0
and the free MS development tools, and especially after
reading the TechRepublic article that Greg referenced, I think
sticking with CF is the best route.

However, as some of you know, I'm still using CF 4.5 and
it's still doing everything I'm asking it to (probably because
I don't know the right questions by now :oP).

What I need is some direction on moving from CF 4.5 to
CF 7.

I'm used to running my own CF and web server, but I'm
wondering if I shouldn't get a cheap GoDaddy.com hosting
account or a hosting account from somewhere else that
is running CF 7 and will provide a "playground" for me to
learn about all the new toys. Once I've learned how to play,
I may go ahead and replace my CF 4.5 server with CF 7 on
my web server, simply because I like the control. However,
I don't want to pay the "upgrade cost" of $1300 right now
and I don't think I want the hassle of running the server
while playing with the code and techniques.

I could install the dev version of CF 7 on my laptop, where I
do al lot of my experimenting, but, again, I'm not sure if there's
much benefit at first to running my own CF 7 server.

I'll stop for now.

Advice anyone?

Rick
