The ActiveX issue was the core CON of mine. However, it does work fine in
Firefox and IE under Windows and the have a beta of an OS X component in
development.

99.99% of our user base is Firefox or IE in Windows. So while not
technically controlled, we have a closed audience.

However, finding a Java applet that works well and is reasonably priced
would be nice.
