I was just doing:

   <cffset setLocale("Spanish (Standard)")>

and getLocale() was returning:

   "Spanish (Standard)"

whereas I was after the Spanish for that, really just so I could
output it for the Spanish users.

If there are enough i18n improvements and features in CFMX7 (such as
getLocaleDisplayName() ), I'll try and use them to make the case for
an upgrade from CFMX 6.1.
