In fact, when I was in the framework evaluation phase, I designed a very small 
pilot project with very limited functionality, and then built it using each of 
the candidate frameworks i had before me (in my case, Model-Glue and Mach II). 
I then chose the one that was the best fit for the way I thought and worked. 
Both of them were totally new for me and did necessarily include a semi-painful 
"J-Curve", but any new thing comes with an initial price in time and effort, 
right? It does, however, make you more valuable for your investment.
