Following are the steps to reproduce. I've tried now on two machines using
both Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 Update 3 and CentOS 4.3 install media.
At this point, I'm *guessing* there's a problem in /etc/init.d/coldfusionmx7
somewhere before 'sleep 12' when installed on RHEL 4 Update 3???
Default install of RHEL or CentOS, other than:
[CENTOS] For Installation Type, select 'Server'
For Package Installation Defaults, select 'Customize software
packages to be installed'
For Package Group Select, scroll to bottom and select 'Minimal'
Login as root
[RHEL]
rpm --import /usr/share/rhn/RPM-GPG-KEY
up2date compat-libstdc++-296 lynx xorg-x11-deprecated-libs
[CENTOS]
yum install compat-libstdc++-296 lynx xorg-x11-deprecated-libs
lynx http://trials.adobe.com
(Download coldfusion-702-lin.bin)
chmod +x ./coldfusion-702-lin.bin
../coldfusion-702-lin.bin
(Default install of ColdFusion MX 7.0.2, other than:)
30-day trial
Do not install 'Getting Started Experience, Tutorials, &
Documentation'
Do not install 'ColdFusion MX 7 Search Services'
Disable RDS
service coldfusionmx7 start
lynx http://localhost:8500/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm
(Login to CF Admin to finish installation)
less /opt/coldfusionmx7/logs/cfserver.log
(Notice CF started without errors)
shutdown -r now
After restarting, boot pauses at 'Starting coldfusionmx7: '
Wait as long as you wish... minutes, hours, it doesn't matter
When you're ready, press the <Enter> key
Boot continues after a short delay
