Are you also concerned that a user might give away their username and password if you
were to put that file somewhere protected?
If not, then you could put the downloadables below the web root, call them with
CFCONTENT, and only allow access to files from customer's who paid for that particular
software.
If you ARE worried about people passing out username/password combos, then you can
restrict the time limit for downloading to like a day or something like that. But
regardless of what you do, if someone really wants to share that program they're going
to do it no matter what you try to do to prevent it.
