In my personal case, it is just a question of in which context the code is: 1- if it is in an expression, like in a CFSET, <CFSET a= puts you in the context of evaluating an expression having CF variables and strings, then a=b & "blah blah" & c looks more logical to me. 2- if it is inside a CFOUTPUT, then you are in a context of a string which will be returned to the client. Using # to escape from that string context like in #b# blah blah #c# looks more logical to me.
