Have you ever used Access for a web app? Have you experienced problems
first hand? I have to disagree with you! For a small, light weight app -
say a small store with only a thousand or two hits per week, I think Access
is just fine. Now, I sure would not want to put anything mission critical
or heavily used on it, but Access 2000 is FINE for small web sites and there
are a LOT of sites out there that run just fine on Access. I've developed a
couple myself. I'd NEVER use Access for anything I do here at the
Univerisity, but for some small commercial stuff, Access is very solid and
cost effective vs. MSSQL.
IMHO,
Dave

Subject: Using MS Access with Cold Fusion (no no)
<RANT>
I'm amazed at the amount of posts I see on this list by people
mentioning that they are running with MS Access. When you do
this, don't be surprised when you have problems. I've talked to
Allaire on the phone and they've told me that they reccomend
that you never use Access in a production environment. Access
is a single user database. Not something to hook in to the web!
