Typically 'aliases' are used forward to one email address and 'lists' are one to many. Is it possible that you used the wrong term with your host?

And, of course, the basics: FTP access, multiple email accounts, multiple email aliases, etc. Also, being a non-profit, the cheaper the better. But I would rather go with a more expensive but more reliable host than a less expensive but less reliable host. Any suggestions?
