FYI it came down to the way the default web site on the web server was configured in IIS. It was not hooked up to a static IP and was using host header names in IIS.
I hooked up the default web site to a static IP and took out the host header name in IIS and now I can connect to the RDS on that server using the Eclipse plugin. I donât have the time to officially go through and figure out if this is repeatable. It might be the way we are using DNS also to resolve the computer name.... I donât know. Why Homesite and Dreamweaver worked it must be a difference in the way they resolve the computer name.... just a guess.
