Yeah, I'm a little sick, but was gonna suggest the same thing. I don't use cflock around cfhttp requests, probably another instance of not following best practice. But for long running ones, I do have to set the page requesttimeout (RTO) higher.
And for WIW, I think if you don't set RTO, it would trump the lock, even if the lock itself was for long enough. Eh.
