It's difficult to load test an app that hasn't been built. This is a planning question, which makes it so difficult. I don't have any idea how you estimate scalability for an application that hasn't been built. I'm only asking the question in case someone comes up with a good answer for my director. =) > Splitting DB and App instances onto two boxes is harder work but worth it - > to > start with you may want two boxes the same spec as the current box, and then > load test each half of the app to see which needs an upgrade first. We already have separate boxes for the database server and web server =) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:250780 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.4
